"I must admit it's sad that the tournament has been forced out of India - that's where the passion of the game is at its highest. But on the other hand I'm delighted South Africa has been given the opportunity of staging the most exciting cricket event in the world."

"Durban should host the final and semi-final matches of the Indian Premier League because of the favourable weather conditions in the city. Durban is the only city in the country with the warm weather to make it feasible to hold matches that deep into winter."

"I'm very happy to hear that it will be staged in our country. It will at least give me the opportunity of being close to my young family for the duration of the tournament."

"However I don't want the people of India to get me wrong. I love visiting and playing in India. They are a passionate lot when it comes to cricket. Having seen how the tournament was played and conducted last year I'm sure South Africa will be able to match, if not better, the standards of the 2008 tournament."
